We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Cheswa Vwalika as the new Chairperson of Copper Rose Zambia (CRZ) Board of Directors. Dr. Cheswa brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, leadership skills, and we are confident that she will be an invaluable asset to our organization.
Dr. Cheswa is the president of the Medical Women Association of Zambia(MWAZ) and a recipient of the 2022 PUSH Women Network Medicine award, she has a proven track record of leadership in Health and Research, and has been a dedicated board member for CRZ since 2020, who also served as Vice Chairperson in 2021. She has a deep understanding of our mission and values, and is committed to helping CRZ achieve its goals.
Throughout her medical work experience, she has worked with various Zambian government health institutions and organizations such as Elizabeth Glaser Pediatrics AIDS Foundation, World Health Organization and UNICEF among others. Furthermore, she has served as Chief of Party for Sexual and Reproductive Health for All Initiative (SARAI) project which was implemented by Society for Health. SARAI seek to address sexual reproductive health issues of vulnerable groups of people including adolescents in rural areas.
As Chairperson, Dr. Cheswa will provide strategic direction, foster positive relationships with stakeholders, and ensure the board operates with transparency, accountability, and ethical standards. She will lead the board in setting and achieving its strategic objectives and promote a culture of collaboration and open communication. “In 2023, we are hopeful that more donors will come on board and provide funding to reach out to more beneficiaries in the communities. The board will provide the guidance for the organization to do it right and well and impact in the most effective way. We will also strive to ensure there is growth for individual staff members through mentorships, training and other opportunities that will contribute to personal and professional growth.”-Dr Cheswa Vwalika.
