Dr. Natasha Salifyanji Kaoma is a global reproductive health champion, medical doctor and epidemiologist. Read More

She is a driven, reliable, and compassionate medical doctor with particular passion for and expertise in. She has 10 years’ experience in youth development, women’s and young people’s health including reproductive, maternal, newborn, children and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH).

Natasha has worked on various international boards and committees and has shared platforms with global leaders such as Melinda Gates and the British Royal Family. She sits on the Dual Prevention Pill advisory board, PMNCH Knowledge and Evidence working group, the UN Every Woman Every Child (UN-EWEC) steering committee and formally the FP2020 reference group.

Natasha has won several awards and accolades such as the Queens Young Leaders Award at Buckingham Palace-UK, Zambian Women of the Year Award-Healthcare Champion, 120 Under 40-New Generation of Family Planning Leaders Champion, 2019 Commonwealth Masters Scholar, etc. She is an alumna of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (MSc. Epidemiology), Cambridge University- UK and the University of Zambia (MBChB, BSc. Human Biology).

programming and organising. In 2015, at the age of 19, she co-found Copper Rose, Zambia’s largest

youth-led organisation that focuses on building a conducive environment for young people to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Faith has global and regional experience in advocacy for youth-led development through her co-leadership of the We Trust You(th) initiative whose aim is to support donors and iNGOs to fund and partner with youth people more equitably.

Before her role at Copper Rose, she was the Youth Campaigns Senior Campaign Manager at Restless Development Uganda. One of her biggest highlights in this role was leading campaigns and advocacy for the Global Goals at the UN by establishing the Youth Power Panel whom she led and supported to empower fellow youth activists around the world by connecting them with funding and opportunities to track the Sustainable Development Goals and hold their leaders to account for their delivery. Since transitioning from this role, she sits on the board of Restless Development Zambia, providing technical expertise in the field of meaningful youth engagement, fundraising and partnerships.

Faith is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar alumnus and holds an MSc degree in Africa and International Development from the University of Edinburgh, UK and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Copperbelt University, Zambia. in finding ways to improve their wellbeing. To better my community, I’m willing to wear any hat, including that of a Program Manager, Head of Programs, Gender Specialist, or Gender Coordinator. The accomplishment of measurable outcomes, team achievement, and the power of teamwork and collaboration in reaching a shared goal all serve as inspiration for me.

Over the years I have gained an outstanding track record in Organisation Leadership, program development, strategic planning, capacity building, program evaluation, service delivery, systems strengthening, HIV prevention, Care and Treatment, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, and sexual and reproductive health. Hands-on proficiency in supporting gender mainstreaming, program research M&E and data analysis, strategic planning, resource mobilization, and managing USAID donor funds. My line of work has accorded me a few notable accomplishments:

-Reaching over 76, 000 people through various community initiatives including sexual reproductive health rights services, ART, ACT, OVC services, and Gender Based Violence prevention initiatives among others.

-Significantly contributed to raising over $4 million in donor funding.

-Awarded the Most Hardworking Employee for 2023 by Copper Rose.

-Awarded the Most Outstanding Employee in 2022 by Copper Rose.

-A Mandela Washington Fellow for African Young Leaders for 2022

-Was the youngest ever appointed Deputy Chief of Party for Expanded Church Response, the largest Zambian-owned Faith-Based NGO.

-Awarded the Most Hardworking Employee in 2016 by Expanded Church Response.
